http://your-refuge.blogspot.com/2009/04/seven-biblical-texts-about-health.html

In this time of concern about the developments on the epidemic threat, it is necessary that people who believe in God strengthen their faith. Our fear should not be bigger than our faith. In the Bible there are at least seven promises.

(1) and he said, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you.” Exodus 15:26

(2) But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him;and by his wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5

(3) Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise. Jeremiah 17:14

(4) Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them. Matthew 15:30

(5) Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.James 5: 14-16

(6) who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. 1Peter 2:24

(7) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3John 1:2

AMAZING GRACE by Steven Tyler

AMAZING GRACE by Steven Tyler

I got the following from http://your-refuge.blogspot.com/

Following are some biblical texts, which are powerful promises from the Bible about marriage. I hope that people who read these verses apply it in their lives, and so they can live healthier and happier. Greetings and Blessings.

Let your spring be blessed.Rejoice in the wife of your youthA loving doe and a graceful deerlet her breasts satisfy you at all times.Be captivated always with her love. Proverbs 5:18-19

Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD. Proverbs 18:22

For I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with violence!” says the LORD of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously Malachi 2:16

and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Matthew 19:5-6

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another
Romans 12:9-11

But to the married I command —not I, but the Lord— that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

But to the rest I—not the Lord—say, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her. The woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 1 Corinthians 7:12-14

Theme Grace 30 April 2009

Theme: GRACE

Matthew 26:27-28

A covenant or testament is an agreement, and in scripture it is between God and man. Tonight in the institution of the Eucharist, Jesus speaks to us about his Covenant with us, which is best understood through the old testament.

The Covenant that God made with Israel as a nation was done through Moses as the Mediator. It was sealed with blood, because blood was considered as a sign of life; those who mixed their blood or plunged their hands into the same blood were thought to have a common spirit.

In delivering the Israelites from the bondage to Egypt, The Israelites were to save themselves by offering a lamb, then dipping some hyssop in the blood, and marking their doorways with blood. The Angel of God seeing the blood would pass by. The Lamb was therefore the Passover of the destroying angel, that is, a pass which secured safety.

In the implementation of the covenant with Moses in which God made Israel a nation; it was the birth of the Israelites as the chosen people of God. The covenant was concluded by various sacrifices. Moses erected an altar with twelve pillars. Taking the blood of the sacrifice, he poured one half of it on the altar, and the other half on the twelve tribes and the people with the words: (Sacramental union)

“This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you.” Exodus 24:8

The institution of the Last supper and the Crucifixion took place during the Passover, when the Eternal Son of the Father mediated a New Testament or Covenant, as the Old Testament was mediated through Moses. As Moses ratified the Old Testament with the blood of animals, so Christ now ratified the New testament with His own Blood, He Who is the true Paschal Lamb.

Tonight, He declared that he was marking the beginning of the New Testament or Covenant ratified by His sacrificial death.

On the cross, he would die by the separation of His blood from His Body. Hence He did not consecrate the bread and wine together, but separately, to show forth the manner of His death by separation of Body and Blood. In this act, Our Lord was what He would be on the cross the next day: both Priest and Victim. In the old Testament and among pagans, the victim, such as goat or a sheep, was apart from the priest who offered it. In this Eucharistic action and on the cross, He, the priest, offered Himself; therefore He was also victim.

Let us all stand to receive this abundant Grace as we listen to the proclamation of this institution of the sacrifice offered for the sins of the world !

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

I wonder what would I say in my last Lecture!

The Last Lecture goes beyond the now-famous lecture to inspire us all to live each day of our lives with purpose and joy.“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”—Randy Pausch.

A lot of professors give talks titled “The Last Lecture.” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?

When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

But the lecture he gave—“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”—wasn’t about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have...and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.

In this book, Randy Pausch has combined the humor, inspiration and intelligence that made his lecture such a phenomenon and given it an indelible form. It is a book that will be shared for generations to come.

Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams
September 18, 2007: Randy Pausch

"Almost all of us have childhood dreams; for example, being an astronaut, or making movies or video games for a living. Sadly, most people don’t achieve theirs, and I think that’s a shame. I had several specific childhood dreams, and I’ve actually achieved most of them. More importantly, I have found ways, in particular the creation (with Don Marinelli), of CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center of helping many young people actually *achieve* their childhood dreams." - Randy Pausch, Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008

Tuesday with Morrie by Mitch Albom 24 April 2009

This is one good book. It teaches me how I should live well & die well.

Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world. Now the best-selling memoir of all time, Tuesdays with Morrie began as a modest labor of love to help pay some of Schwartz’s medical bulls. Today, the book has sold more than 14 million copies in more than 50 editions around the world.

Thursday 2 April 2009

Tonight, the second reading is address to remind us what we should not do

Do not be like the ‘Jews’ & Israelites - headstrong, obstinate, disobedient, rebellious, proud, wicked.....

Do not be like the Pharisees - say & believe in one thing but do another thing, hide behind the law, boast about the Law and disobey it...

Do not be a Hypocrite.....if you do, you bring God into contempt.

Let us listen to the reading.
